Dr Chris Yerington joins me for a discussion regarding one particularly interesting case he faced during his time working as a clinical anesthesiologist. The patient Frank arrived at the intensive care unit cold and with no heartbeat. Fortunately, and despite coming very close to the leading Doctor giving up on the resuscitation, Frank survived and had an amazing account of his time out of his body, an account that had Dr Yerington questioning his views on death and beyond. We look at Frank's accurate recount of memorizing a serial number of a surgical lamp, seen from his perspective floating above it, and look at all possible explanations before resorting to the possible conclusion that this was indeed a case of paranormal veridical out of body experience.

Dr Yerington wrote about his account on Quora, which can be found by clicking here.

  1. I am sorry for my terrible English but I hope we will finally communicate.
I have one question about "Frank's" case:Considering that his experience would be COMPLETELY unexplicable ONLY if this occurred at the time when he was under deep hypothermic circulatory arrest(WITHOUT adjunctive way of selective antegrade cerebral perfusion or retrograde cerebral perfusion), I wonder if this is the case. If indeed his descriptions can prove that his experience occurred at EXACTLY this period. Because if it occurred at the time he was receiving CPR, then many explanations could be given. ( such as sufficient blood flow to the brain, enough to receive external stimulations that later could be interpreted as if they were seen from above, etc.)
    Thank you.

    1. Thank you for your comment. I would recommend posing the question to Dr Yerington through his Quora post although I know he mentioned in the discussion that his memory of the details is somewhat diminished. Although I'm sure he would remember at least to reasonable accuracy a very important point such as this. Let me know if he responds!
